Boxheart Modern+Contemporary exhibit by Cara Livorio

I am excited to announce that a series of my recent paintings will be featured in a group show at Boxheart gallery in Bloomfield, Pittsburgh, from May 20-July 18.

The opening reception is May 24, 5-9pm.  I'd love to see you there, and I hope that you can stop in and check out the show!

My new series, "passing by," encompasses a large number of figurative works that enact scenarios of every day life.  The paintings represent the seemingly mundane yet beautiful moments that come and go around me, and their combined installation on the wall evokes the sense of a larger narrative of the collective experience.

Enjoy!

Interview with the AP Collection by Cara Livorio

Check out my AP Collection interview.

I had a great experience with Genevieve who curates a fantastic project called, the AP Collection.  We had a cool chat about my background, my work, and about our creative experience.  She is assembling a collection of audio portraits of people in the creative industries in the city; its a cool and positive project that I'm very happy and proud to be a part of.

She has a great personality and curiosity that make the interview fun and natural, and I was impressed with her team.  Thanks Genevieve, Jerome, and David for coming out to my New Ken studio and for your support.  I hope that people can enjoy some insight into my crazy life and personal creative journey--however random or relevant or cool or not it might be.  That is the point. "Room to breath, time to speak."  Ciao guys, take a listen.

Brew House Distillery show opening by Cara Livorio

After months of working and critiques, the Brew House residency show, "Seven Degrees of 7," just opened at the Brew House on Friday June 28th.  The experience was great, and I enjoyed the time and collaboration with the other 6 talented artists: Terry Boyd, Elizabeth Brophy, Crystala Armagost, Alexis Roberto, Josh Mitchel, and Kate Hansen.

Kurt Shaw gave us a nice write up in the Tribune Review.  Thanks!
